Ian & Pat Welcome all to Vulcan Lodge Ladies Festival
W Bro Iain Campbell, on his own behalf and on behalf of the principal guest his wife Pat, welcomed everyone to the lodge’s ladies’ lunch. He expressed their delight in being able to welcome so many members and friends, old and new to such an auspicious occasion, wishing everyone an enjoyable Lunch.
The Lunch being the first formal social function of Ian’s year in office as WM, and being a major event in the annual calendar of the lodge, was held at the The Derbyshire Hotel, South Normanton.
Grace was offered by the W.Bro Martyn Prior and was followed by a superb three course meal, consisting of Seasonal Melon with pineapple & strawberry salsa, then, Braised Blade of Beef with rosemary jus & seasonal vegetables or Baked Salmon Fillet with Normandy lemon & herb sauce, followed by Raspberry Bakewell Tart Served with crème anglaise, all served with an excellent selection of red and white wines. Tea or coffee completed the meal. Many complimentary remarks about the quality of food offered and the service of the hotels staff were made. Msrtyn returned thanks and Ian proposed the loyal toast.

He thanked all the ladies present for their help and continued support to their partners endeavours as Freemasons. The stewards then distributed gifts to all ladies present. The ladies’ song was sung by W.Bro Graham Hitchcock accompanied by his wonderful children.
Pat responded to the toast on behalf of the ladies. She thanked all for their attendance and for the help and assistance in the organisation both before and during the lunch. Pat thanked the members of the lodge for the lovely gift, and made a wonderful heartfelt speech, that resonated with everyone at the Lunch.
The formal proceedings were under the control of W Bro Philip Blount the director of ceremonies.
A fine raffle raised a most wonderful £330, which will be presented to the Ilkeston Hospital League of Friends at a later date.
